Who we are

Sustainability that pays its way, from first assessment to verified savings.

Urban Sustainability is a wholly owned division of The Core Group, a full-cycle property services company. We bring hands-on building operations experience to every project, so you deal with one partner from the first inspection through to installed, verified savings.

Many of the most valuable initiatives cost little or nothing. They come from smarter operation, better asset management and informed decisions. We look past the obvious LED and solar upgrades to find what your building can really achieve.

End to end

Assessment, business case and delivery under one roof, so nothing falls between consultants.

Strata experts

We run buildings day to day, so our advice fits how committees, budgets and AGMs actually work.

Independent

No commissions from suppliers, installers or retailers. Every recommendation is made in the owners' interest.

Proven results

Every recommendation comes with cost, savings and payback, then savings are checked against real bills.

Sustainability Assessment Reports

In partnership with Solutions in Engineering

Delivered in partnership with Solutions in Engineering (SIE), who bring 42+ years of strata and compliance experience. Our inspectors attend site in person and work through a comprehensive 57-item inspection across 10 categories. You receive a clear, classified report showing what's already in place and, importantly, what's possible, with photos, recommendations and indicative costs.

  • Maturity rating on a 1–5 scale
  • Initiatives grouped by cost: no cost to Capital Works
  • Supports the NSW AGM sustainability requirement
  • Optional findings session with your committee

Pricing: a fixed price per lot. See our Pricing Schedule.

Feasibility Assessments

Turning ideas into a business case

For the initiatives you want to pursue, such as solar, batteries, EV charging or heat pump hot water, we review the site, check space and building constraints, run a preliminary capacity review and build the business case.

  • Cost, savings and payback for each initiative
  • Grants and rebates identified and applied for
  • Specialist engineers coordinated where required
  • A clear recommendation for the committee

Pricing: a fixed fee per stage or an hourly rate. Never a percentage of project cost.

Project Management & Delivery

Tender management to verified savings

We don't hand over a report and walk away. Our tender management covers clear specifications, competitive quotes and a like-for-like comparison with a recommendation the committee can act on. We then coordinate delivery end to end with minimal disruption to residents.

  • Tender management: specifications, quotes and comparison
  • Contractor, council and utility liaison
  • Site oversight through to completion
  • Savings verified against actual billing

Pricing: a fixed fee per stage or an hourly rate. Never a percentage of project cost.

How we charge

Simple, transparent pricing.

Sustainability Assessment Reports are priced on the number of lots in your scheme, so committees and managers know the cost upfront with no surprises. For Feasibility Assessments and Project Management, we never charge a percentage of the project cost. You choose a simple fixed fee per stage or an hourly rate, agreed before we start.

Education & training

We're passionate about education in the sustainability space.

Better decisions start with understanding. We run practical, jargon-free sessions on strata sustainability: what the NSW AGM requirement means, where buildings typically waste energy and water, which initiatives pay back fastest, and how to fund them.
